When it comes to SEO, making sure your links and pages get indexed is a big of ensuring your website ranks high in the major search engines. Now, websites will eventually get indexed over time anyway, however, sometimes it's good to give them a little boost, especially if you're doing affiliate SEO or ranking sites for clients and you need results a bit more quickly.
For that there are link indexing services, and for the longest time I personally didn't see much of a point to use them. I thought they were mainly for blackhat SEO, which I wasn't much involved in.
